I have previously served as Treasurer of MSC and have served on other nonprofit boards as President, Secretary, and Treasurer. I understand the responsibility and dedication required to guide an organization forward. I am a strong believer in the Center’s mission to enrich the lives of older adults through connection, learning, and support. I care deeply about the Senior Center community and will always stand up for what is right. If elected, I will bring a thoughtful, experienced, and a principled voice to the Board and will work hard to ensure our members’ needs remain front and center.

My goal is to continue working hard to support the Missoula Senior Center and help grow our membership. I’ve been a dedicated volunteer for over a year, helping with lunch preparation on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, managing our donation garage, assisting with moving donations downstairs, and working at the downstairs register. I enjoy connecting with everyone who visits the center and believe a friendly conversation and a positive attitude make a difference. In my past work, my wife and I owned a café, and I’ve also worked as a maintenance technician. Many folks here know me for my quirky T-shirts and upbeat spirit. On Thursdays, I assist with the Senior Lunch Program in Lolo, serving seniors in that community as well. I appreciate your support and your vote as I continue working to help our center thrive.

I previously held a position on the MSC Board and co-managed the Center as we emerged from the COVID pandemic. My objective was to create a welcoming and safe environment for members, while ensuring their comfort and addressing their needs. The vision remains unchanged. For many seniors, visiting the Center is the highlight of their week. I want to make it a place filled with activities that enhance their lives while preserving a personal and inviting atmosphere. I envision the Center being actively engaged in the community, with is offerings attracting new members. I hope to see the building continually updated to meet the requirements of both staff and seniors. My background in management, retail, graphics, fundraising, and development equips me with the skills to achieve these goals. I have served on various boards: Missoula” Design Review Board; Garnet Preservation Organization, Missoula CVB, and Living Art, plus numerous fundraising committees. Thank you for your kind consideration.

With a deep respect for the wisdom and contributions of older adults, and a passion for serving my community, I am eager to contribute my skills, perspective, and energy to the Center’s mission of enriching the lives of seniors. Throughout my professional and volunteer experience, I have developed strong strengths such as leadership, strategic planning, extensive professional financial background, and community outreach. I have seen firsthand how critical senior centers are - not just for the services they provide, but for the sense of belonging, dignity, and purpose they foster. I believe I can bring meaningful insights and a collaborative spirit to help guide the Center’s continued growth and impact. I have been a member of numerous community boards, such as The Missoula Symphony, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Destination Missoula, MCT, Arts Missoula, A Carousel for Missoula, and the American Heart Association. I am particularly drawn to the Missoula Senior Center and would be honored to support its efforts through governance, stewardship, and advocacy.

As I finish my current service on the MSC Board (2 years as President and 1 year as Past President) I recognize the work still to be done as well as the new challenges facing us. Over the past few years, we’ve made dramatic strides in addressing the infrastructure, both Routine: resurfacing the dance floor; adding new tables & chairs (both for lunch & bingo); upgrading kitchen equipment (hot box, steam table, code compliance); new Bingo machine & TV’s; and Major: working with electrical contractors, City Fire Marshall, and NorthWestern Energy to bring the Center’s electrical system up to Code; upgrading the Thrift shop with LED lighting, non-slip tread on the stairs; parkinglot repair and painting; and acquiring a walk-in cooler. My goal is to apply my MSC policy and program experience to re-focus our efforts, ensuring we not only maintain our excellent facilities but consistently deliver on our mission for the benefit of our members and organization. Thank you for your past support and I would appreciate your vote.

With over 25 years of experience in Finance & Accounting, I am confident that my expertise and passion align seamlessly with the organization's mission. Throughout my career, I have been committed to accountability, consistency, and, more importantly, cost-saving strategies. In my previous role at the Center, as Business Manager, I was instrumental in providing financial oversight by creating an annual budget, monitoring daily expenses, and prioritizing sources of income. These ongoing achievements highlight my ability to integrate financial controls to any organization. My leadership, communication, and analytical skills have been honed through my years of experience, allowing me to collaborate with diverse leadership teams and drive positive change. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to contribute my knowledge and energy to the Center and I am eager to actively participate in advancing the organizations vital objectives by continuously focusing on the mission.

I have been a member and volunteer at the Missoula Senior Center for about 10 years. My goals for MSC are and have been to make people feel welcome, treat them with respect and dignity. The Centers’ goals, as well as mine, should be integrity, honesty, and transparency. As a member of the Board, I would assure these goals were in place. My experience in retail, customer service, and confidentiality will be an asset to the Board and to any volunteer position in which I may serve. I moved to Missoula from Helena in the 1990s. I worked for the Department of Justice until I retired in 2015. I have also worked retail at various times in my life. I love socializing, thrifting, gardening, and reading.

Beginning the day I entered the Missoula Senior Center more than 3 years ago, I have devoted myself to enhancing the lives of its membership by volunteering my time, collaborating with local businesses for substantial donations and, in general, helping enrich an atmosphere for socialization, comfort, enjoyment and more for our members. I recognize the importance of a board to function within organizational bylaws, increased transparency, and the recognition of its fiduciary responsibility. I pledge to manage with continued dedication to a high degree of ethical standards focused on our mission statement guidelines. My many years of management experience for a large local business and my hundreds of hours of MSC volunteerism have, in part, prepared me for this position for MSC. In addition, I have had an opportunity to serve on numerous other community nonprofit boards, which will be beneficial as well.

Harold Pinkston

I am a proven leader in business and higher education with over 30 years of experience leading key executive positions in both the private sector and multiple non-profit organizations. Most recently as Senior Vice President of a multi-million-dollar global company and as having held board positions with the Chamber of Commerce in Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC. I led strategic initiatives that maximized market and membership growth while also maintaining and adhering to budgetary goals. Regarding goals for MSC, I believe there are many untapped opportunities for the Center; namely, community awareness and outreach, membership growth, local and community financial support, and most importantly, creating an environment that supports the comfort and well-being of our senior citizens in Missoula and the surrounding communities.

As someone who is deeply passionate about serving our senior community - and having previously been employed by the Center - I bring a strong commitment and a unique perspective that I believe would add meaningful value to your team. During my time at MSC, I gained first-hand experience with the day-to-day operations, the needs and concerns of our senior members, and the importance of fostering a welcoming and enriching environment. This experience has given me crucial insights into both the challenges and opportunities facing the center and the seniors it serves. I would also share that I am a young senior myself- someone who understands from personal experience that the term “senior” encompasses a wide range of ages, abilities, and needs. I see the importance of creating programs and services that reflect this diversity and address the evolving realities of again in a way that is inclusive, empowering, and forward-thinking. I am passionate about ensuring that seniors of all ages feel seen, supported, and connected. I would be honored to contribute to the MSC mission in a governance capacity, helping to support strategic initiatives, strengthen community engagement, and advocate for programs that enhance the quality of life for seniors in Missoula.
